Description:
Foreign-trained physicians are physicians whose MD degrees (or equivalent) were earned at universities outside Canada. Part-time Clinical (MD) appointments require being active staff at a fully affiliated or community-affiliated academic hospital. For a physician on active staff at a fully affiliated academic hospital applying for a part-time clinical faculty appointment, the Department must provide a compelling reason explaining the request and explicit agreement by the Hospital Chief and VP Education or equivalent. The academic work includes teaching in patient care for 20% - 80% of their professional time.
