Rehabilitation Sciences Sector
Adjunct Lecturer
Description:
To be eligible for an Adjunct Lecturer appointment, the individual must hold employment with another institution and possess specialized expertise or learning that is of value to the department. The job description at the other institution is primarily non-academic in nature. For example, a candidate might be an employee in industry or government or a professional who has specialized qualifications for teaching purposes. This category includes, among others, individuals in the Rehabilitation Sciences Sector who are registered practitioners employed by one of the University's affiliated sites and/or with a private clinic or organization whose primary role is to provide practical teaching. The appointment formally acknowledges their on-going contributions to the University. Adjunct Lecturer appointments do not involve rank and they are not eligible for promotion.
Duration:
Initial adjunct lecturer appointments are offered for a term of 1-3 years, from July 1st to June 30th. Activity reports are to be submitted to the Department Chair on an annual basis. To maintain the appointment and be considered for renewal of an active appointment, an activity report must be submitted annually.

Annual Activity Report to Maintain and Renew an Adjunct Lecturer Academic Appointment
As of 2020, all faculty with an active Lecturer academic appointment held with one of the Rehabilitation Sciences Sector departments must complete an annual activity report. This year, on January 5, 2024, current Lecturers will receive an email inviting them to complete their online annual activity report. These activity reports must be completed and submitted by February 15, 2024.
To request renewal of the active appointment, faculty are required to complete the online annual activity report. Submission of an activity report will be accepted as the appointment renewal application, unless additional information is required.
Those holding an appointment that does not end on the upcoming June 30th will still be expected to complete an annual activity report to continue the appointment.
