Status Only Appointments



 An appointment given to an individual who already holds a status-only or clinical appointment in another department at the University of Toronto.


Appointments are for a fixed term, the length of which should be tied to the term of the appointment in the faculty member's primary department.


Appointments in this category require the approval of the appointee's primary Department Chair and the Chair of the second department. This is followed by a document review by the Human Resources department.

The Department of Psychiatry requires

  • a Letter of Support from a Department of Psychiatry Division Director

The Department of Family and Community Medicine requires

  • Professional Development Plan

  • Letter of Support from the Hospital or Clinical Site Chief
